With the upcoming DS Lite launch in US on the 11th it appears time is running out on my super cool Jap DS Lite, so I better show it off. Here are some pictures I took a couple of weeks ago. I also was setup with a super slick flash device for playing backup games. It's been a blast to try out many of the games I would have otherwise passed over because of the cost. Of course my enjoyment of many of these games could just be a side effect of the amazing DSL screen. The DSL is freaking amazing!! I think I will probably go back and play most of my DS games just for the sake of seeing them in their true light(HAHA!). Well I'm out, Peace.
It's been awhile since I last updated. I've just been busy but I am trying to upload all my accumulated course work from RIT this year. Starting off the new updates is a page on my 2D Graphics Project Prime . Please go check it out and soon I will upload the demo for download. Until then later!
I have been mostly working on trying to understand how to open a window and initialize DirectX. I think I have a pretty good understanding of the initialization process and some of the underlying DirectX structures. Today I spent most of the day trying to get a sprite on the screen and animated. I found a pretty good Samus (Metroid) sprite rip and modified it for my animation algorithm. This was needed because each frame of the animation was not equally spaced. This in turn meant that moving the viewing rect around a standard did not yield the next frame of animation. I am including a sample image of the texture for the sprite animation:

Here is also a screen cap of my window and sprite so far..

Well the work continues and sleep is not an option...
I am working on getting the forums up again check back throughout the day.
The iPod so small, so tiny yet still completely functional. It's amazing how far the tech has been able to shrink done, in a matter of years. I guess the tech for the nano been around for awhile but is only now cheap enough to reap profits off of. Seeing the nano and not having an iPod yet, I felt it was completely necessary that I purchase one....immediately.
So the semester has begun at RIT and things are going pretty well!! Lot's of work but so far the classes have been a lot of fun. I will try to keep this updated and hopefully add some new features. That's it for now
Today the punkiest of the punksters was found!! A man who just doesn't listen to punk rock, he is punk rock. He sweats the bleeding guitar riffs of such hit's as "My favorite things" a remake of the classic, that this time around really captures the true essence of the lyrics. Some would accuse the man of being a poser; being mid to late 30's, an avid south beach dieter, and generally just all around "Hardcore Tech-titan", but to see the man "punk-out"[sic] is to understand the true nature of a punk fanatic. Without further delay...Punk Rock!!!

As usual on Monday mornings my Dad was making noise around 4 a.m. as he had to get to the airport, only this time I woke up. This was not the typical wake up and acknowledge someone is moving around downstairs; no this was full on wake up and stay up. Which, to be quite blunt, sucked. I tried to get back to sleep, but no, it was not happening. So here I am at work been here since 6:45 wondering what to do to keep my mind active and not drift in to the work comma.
This weekend was sort of productive. Last week, for father's day, we purchased an HDTV for my Dad. It is pretty sweet and Halo 2 and Madden definitely look sweet in 720 p ( Maybe 480p, not really sure). Last week I hooked up everything and this week I hooked up the old TV in my room. It was a nice upgrade all around 25"->32" for me and 32"->52" for my Dad. I had quite a bit of rewiring to do for my setup but I was able to get it done without too hefty a price tag. Which is always a good thing.
After hooking everything up I realized I had a fair amount of video games hidden in my old entertainment center. So the problem becomes where exactly to put them? Maybe I will just go and get some tupperware bins and stuff them in there the bookshelf is already overburdened with NES and adding my SNES collection and more NES games wouldn't be advisable.
Pictures soon, and PSP emulators are a godsend ;)
So I was on vacation and just generally slacking on everything for the past couple of weeks. Not much to report, other than I am still tired and worn out, but such is life I guess. I am still trying to figure things out for next fall. I hjave to get things together find housing that sort of stuff, but i think it will be fun. Well hopefully I can get to uploading the new version of Zelda, but my new comp needs to be built so it may be a day or two.
